How to Use

HOW TO USE - APPLICATION

Step 1: Always start with your base coat - base coat is important and will improve your manicure by protecting your nails from stains, fill ridges and smoothes out nails without damage, can strengthen nails, reduce chipping and tip wear - prolonging the life of your manicure and can make glitter removal easier.

Step 2: To achieve an even placement of glitters on the nail (particularly when using glitter toppers with a clear base) in some cases it might be necessary to dab the glitter on any bare patches after your initial application, letting each coat dry before applying. Alternatively you can place a drop of polish in the centre of the nail and use the brush to push it out towards the edges.

Step 3
: Finally finish your manicure with a top coat. A top coat can make a polish truly shine, as well as help drying your manicure, help with chip resistance, give the manicure a glossier finish, flatten out brush strokes and create a smooth finish to the polish. Don't forget to apply some cuticle oil once everything has dried.

Alternatively, you may want a more subdued matte look. When using matte topcoat with a heavily glittered polish, it is recommended to use a normal topcoat first, to smooth out all the lumps and bumps from the glitter, then use your matte topcoat.

REMOVAL

Most Indie polishes consist of solvent resistant glitters that can at times be slightly more difficult to remove, when compared to commercially manufactured nail polishes. Using your normal polish removal method with acetone-free nail polish remover may be a little timeconsuming. Using acetone-based nail polish remover (as long as you're not wearing nail enhancements) will make glitter polish removal a lot easier. For those stubborn "glitter bomb" polishes, the "Foil Soak Off Method" is the best way to remove your polish. You will need enough cotton wool to put a piece of polish remover soaked cotton on each fingernail, and then wrap each finger firmly in aluminium foil, which will prevent the remover from evaporating, and help it soak through the layers of top coat, polish and base without getting mess everywhere. After 5 to 10 minutes, remove the foil and use the soaked cotton wool to wipe the nail clean. The polish should have softened, and be much easier to remove.
